Bonnie VanDeraa is a veteran paramedic and Marathon runner. On January 23, 2018, her EMT partner attempted to murder her. Despite being shot twice in the head and beaten, Bonnie fought for her life. After less than two years, she is racing once again, volunteering at a local hospital and writing poetry.
