Episode 295 - Ron Stallworth

Ron Stallworth is a Colorado Springs PD Veteran and the subject of the movie Blackkklansman. As a young black undercover officer, Ron was able to infiltrate the local KKK chapter. We discuss his journey into law enforcement, white supremacy in America, dirty cops, unorthodox policing and much more.

As the first African-American and youngest detective in the Colorado Springs Police Department, Ron Stallworth infiltrated the ranks of the Ku Klux Klan. In 2014, retired Police Officer Stallworth published the true story of his undercover investigation of the KKK in his book, Black Klansman. The book reached #1 on the New York Times Best Seller's List.

Ronnie Stallworth Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz, Shaun Redick, and QC Entertainment were instrumental in bringing the book to the attention of Jordan Peele and Spike Lee who adapted it into a movie. The film, BlacKkKlansman, debuted at the Cannes Film Festival on May 14, 2018, winning the Grand Prix Award, the second-most prestigious prize of the festival, and Ecumenical Jury Special Mention.

The film went on to be nominated for 6 Academy Awards, 5 BAFTA Awards, 4 Golden Globes and 3 Screen Actors Guild Awards, winning Best Adapted Screenplay at both the Academy Awards and BAFTA Awards. Also, the American Film Institute (AFI) named it one of the Top 10 Movies of the Year for 2018.
