Steve is a VP for the BC Professional Firefighters Association (BCPFFA) for the Lower Mainland, representing the Tri-Cities, North Shore, Squamish & Whistler Fire Fighter Unions. He's the vice-chair of the BCPFFA's Mental Health Taskforce, as well as their Occupational Health and Safety Committee, & represent the BCPFFA on the BC First Responder Mental Health committee that is chaired by WorkSafeBC.
Steve also represent the 6th District (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and the North West Territories) for the International Association of Fire Firefighters’ on their Behavioural Health Committee. He was hired as a full-time firefighter in Coquitlam in 1997, & is currently a Captain in the Fire Suppression Division on Engine 1. Steve is also a CISM/Peer support member, Union Exec. rep, & co-chair for the joint OH&S committee for the Coquitlam Firefighter’s.
