Jason Friedman - Episode 787

Jason Friedman has 31 years in emergency services, 18 years with Fort Lauderdale and has been a Captain for past 7 years. Prior to relocating to southeast Florida, he was a Paramedic in NYC as well as area outside NYC in Westchester, Rockland Counties NY and Bergen County NJ. Jason began his first responder career as Volunteer FF in Hartsdale NY (Westchester County).

He worked at both WTC attacks, 93 & 01 and has suffered Complex (Cumulative) PTSD from incidents both professional and personal from 1997-2005. Jason attempted suicide in March 2022 but has had incredible success with the “Shatterproof” program at Florida Health in May 2022.

His passion now is sharing the message of resilience and wanting others to know that there’s always help and a solution to every problem. “Suicide isn’t the answer. You just have to accept that you need help managing something that is unmanageable by yourself alone and with work, perseverance, support and a little bit of hope, you can overcome anything.”
