Jadie Miller and Chris Frueh - Episode 748

Jadie Miller has over 15 years as a firefighter, she has served as a volunteer and is currently a full-time professional at a department within Ontario Canada.

In 2018 she experienced an injury specific to the unique challenges of firefighting that no rookie is ready for, not taught how to prepare for, nor given the tools to deal with called 'Firefighter Syndrome.'

Like most firefighters Jadie is dedicated to life-long learning, with the mission to serve her community by doing what is needed to be and do better.

She is certified under National Fire and Protection Associated (NFPA) 1041: Standards for Fire and Emergency Service Instructors, holding a rare certification of the level 3 accreditation within the province of Ontario. She served a 2-year secondment in where she was privileged to directly reported to the Fire Chief of her municipality. She was responsible for the research and development of policies and procedures for the 5 different operational branches. Her primary objective was to evaluate and overcome the interdependency of operational needs of each branch. Helping to establish a unified standard.

She values the perspective from both sides and the challenges that Fire Chiefs and Firefighters alike face. Her home, is on the trucks with her family, allowing her to move towards fire.
