Episode 31 - Dominick Barbera

Dominick Barbera is a retired Miami Dade firefighter and one of the first Paramedics in the country. We talk about the birth of prehospital medicine, the evolution of the fire service, tradition and much more.

Dominick Barbera began his career as a firefighter in the 1960s.  He proceeded to climb the ranks in the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department.  Dominick was one of the first firefighters to become a Paramedic after the City of Miami pioneered the program.  Dominick has been an active member of the union throughout his career and continued to serve after his retirement.
