Episode 383 - Rob Fisher

Chief Rob Fisher is a veteran of both career and volunteer fire departments, fire instructor and previous FOOLS chair. We discuss his journey into the fire service, the importance of realism in training, mental health, firefighter fitness, his work with the FOOLS and much more.

Rob Fisher, a member of the fire service for 26 years, is a lieutenant in Snohomish County (WA) Fire Department Ladder 72. He has worked as a volunteer and career firefighter. He has held the following positions: driver, lieutenant, training captain, and battalion chief. He has an AS degree in fire command and a BS degree in public safety and emergency management and is an IFSAC fire officer II.

He instructs in truck company operations for Firetown Training Specialist, Spec. Rescue International, and other training organizations. He also instructs at the Washington State Fire Academy as a recruit academy instructor. He was the 2013 position elect for the Education Trustee with FOOLS International. He was the recipient of the 2008 Dana Hannon award from the International FOOLS as Instructor and Educator of the Year.
